Priced at $1.99 at most locations, the Baconator Fries joined the Wendy’s Baconator burger menu for a limited time starting Monday, August 8, 2016.
Baconator Fries are a blend of warm cheddar cheese sauce, freshly-cooked Applewood Smoked Bacon and shredded cheddar cheese drizzled over Wendy’s natural-cut fries, Wendy’s says. The limited time offer was first introduced in 2015 and is back now for a limited time.
Baconator Fries join the Baconator burger, which is made with six strips of thick-cut, fresh-cooked Applewood Smoked Bacon. The Baconator has become one of the most popular menu items since its introduction in 2007, Wendy’s said.
“Only Wendy’s can bring beef and bacon to give you a hamburger worthy of the name Baconator,” said Kurt Kane, Wendy’s Chief Concept and Marketing Officer.
To build this juicy collaboration, the Baconator starts with two ¼ lb. patties of 100% pure fresh beef. Then six strips of thick-cut Applewood Smoked Bacon are added along with three slices of cheese and a bakery-style bun.
The Baconator has a suggested retail price of $6.36 and the limited-time Baconator Fries have a suggested price of $1.99.
About Wendy’s (from Wikipedia)
Wendy’s (formerly branded as Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers before February 25, 2013) is an international fast food chain restaurant founded by Dave Thomas on November 15, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio, United States.
As of March 2010, Wendy’s was the world’s third largest hamburger fast food chain with approximately 6,650 locations, following McDonald’s 31,000+ locations and Burger King’s 22,000+ locations. In 2011, Wendy’s sales exceeded those of Burger King for the first time in the company’s history. With sales of $8.5 billion (USD), the company ranked number two in hamburger chains, although Burger King still has far more restaurants.
Wendy’s menu consists primarily of hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, French fries and beverages, including the Frosty. The company does not have a signature sandwich, such as the Big Mac or the Whopper. Instead, the square burger patties (which are fresh ground beef rather than round frozen patties) it uses in its burgers are the signature item.
