Starbucks began serving their PSL to Rewards Members last week with general availability of PSL starting today, Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
Starbucks said their PSL is made with real pumpkin sauce, cinnamon, ginger, clove and nutmeg, then handcrafted with espresso and steamed milk, and topped off with whipped cream and a dash of pumpkin pie topping.
Starbucks also announced other menu updates for Fall starting today, including Dark Chocolate and Caramelized Banana Oatmeal.
PSL at McDonalds, Dunkin, Krispy Kreme, Caribou
An annual tradition for Fall, Pumpkin Lattes arrived earlier this week at McDonald’s, Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme and Caribou Coffee. Panera will follow soon.
McDonald’s began serving its Pumpkin Spiced Latte nationwide on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, the company said. The seasonal beverage is in all U.S. McDonald’s for the first time since 2013.
“Because our customers asked for it, for the first time in three years, McDonald’s is expanding our Pumpkin Spiced Lattes to the entire U.S. making this popular drink available to all customers nationwide on August 31,” a spokesperson for McDoanld’s told Fortune Magazine. “The Pumpkin Spiced Latte is made with hints of pumpkin and cinnamon flavors, consists of espresso made with 100% Arabica beans and steamed with whole or non-fat milk.” She added that it will continue to be served through the holidays.
Dunkin Donuts began serving pumpkin flavored coffee, lattes and macchiatos in a nationwide rollout on Monday, August 29, 2016, the chain said in their Fall Menu announcement.
In addition to classic pumpkin, Dunkin’ Donuts introduced another flavor for Fall, Salted Caramel.
Krispy Kreme’s Fall Flavors menu also arrived nationwide on Monday, August 29, 2016. The Fall Menu for 2016 includes Krispy Kreme’s Pumpkin Spice Latte along with a Salted Caramel Latte Doughnut, Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut, a spokesperson said.
Krispy Kreme’s Pumpkin Spice Latte is topped with whipped cream and pumpkin topping. The beverage can be enjoyed hot, iced or frozen. The Pumpkin Spice Doughnut is an old-fashioned doughnut with pumpkin spice and Krispy Kreme’s classic glaze. The Salted Caramel Latte Doughnut is an espresso Kreme filled doughnut and topped with a salted caramel icing and salted sugar blend. An espresso icing drizzle is also on the top.
Caribou Coffee began serving Pumpkin Pie Latte, Pumpkin White Mocha, and a new Creme Brulee drink on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Caribou says the Pumpkin Pie Latte is made with real pumpkin purée and brown sugar. The new Crème Brulee Boudino features a rich blend of caramel and vanilla with espresso and creamed milk. Panera Bread started serving their Pumpkin Spice Latte in some locations on Monday, September 5, 2016. Last year Panera revamped their pumpkin latte to feature real pumpkin and other natural ingredients.
Au Bon Pain recently began serving its Fall Menu, including Pumpkin Chai Lattes.
