Families Eat Free Weekends

IKEA has a “spend $100 and your family eats for free” deal on select weekends during the year.

On select weekends like Labor Day,  you can dine in an IKEA restaurant and then deduct your total restaurant bill from any home furnishings purchase of $100 or more.  Be sure to have a Family Membership before you go; you can get a free membership at:  IKEA Family Membership.

Here is how the deal works (from IKEA):
1. Purchase your meal in our Restaurant.
2. Receive a coupon with your receipt.
3. Present IKEA Family Card to store cashier.
4. Give your coupon and receipt to the cashier and receive the total amount of your meal deducted from your purchase of over $100.

IKEA has this deal several times a year.  For more details see the IKEA Foods Page.

Terms of IKEA Labor Day Deal: Offer valid for existing and new IKEA Family members. Restaurant purchase must be consumed on the premises. Limit one restaurant receipt per store discount. Home furnishings purchase must be made the same day as the restaurant purchase. Not valid on IKEA Gift Card purchases. Simply hand over your IKEA Restaurant receipt with the coupon to the store cashier to have your discount applied. Total home furnishing purchase must be $100 or more before tax. Offer valid Saturday, September 2 through Monday, September 4, 2017 only at participating IKEA stores. Offer not valid at IKEA Stoughton, IKEA Carson, IKEA Columbus and IKEA New Haven.

The company is known for its modern architectural designs for various types of appliances and furniture, and its interior design work is often associated with an eco-friendly simplicity.

Every store includes a restaurant serving traditional Swedish food, including potatoes with Swedish meatballs, cream sauce and lingonberry jam, although there are variations. Besides these Swedish foods, hot dogs and drinks are also sold, along with a few varieties of the local cuisine, and beverages such as lingonberry juice.  Also items such as prinsesstårta (princess cake) are sold as desserts.
