October 5, 2016

wendys-taco-saladWendy’s has brought back their Taco Salad for $5.99 starting this week.

First introduced in the 1990s, the Taco Salad is made with a bed of freshly chopped iceberg and romaine lettuce and is topped with Wendy’s signature chili, hand-diced tomatoes and shredded cheddar cheese. The salad also comes with tortilla chips, sour cream and salsa.

Wendy’s Taco Salad is priced at $5.99* for a full-sized entrée salad or $3.99* for a half-sized salad. For nutritional information see:  Wendy’s Salad Menu.

“Wendy’s Taco Salad is an all-time classic and, over the years, fans of the original have asked if we’d ever bring it out of retirement,” said Carl Loredo, Vice President of Wendy’s brand marketing. “We love how nostalgic and passionate our loyal Taco Salad fans are and look forward to introducing it to a new generation of fans with the same build and quality ingredients.”

About Wendy’s (from Wikipedia)

Wendy's coupons and specials - exterior photoWendy’s is an international fast food chain restaurant founded by Dave Thomas in 1969, in Columbus, Ohio.

As of 2016, Wendy’s was the world’s third largest hamburger fast food chain with 6,490 locations, following Burger King’s 15,003 locations and McDonald’s’ 36,525 locations.

Wendy’s menu consists primarily of hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, French fries and beverages, including the signature Frosty, which is a soft serve frozen dairy dessert.

Unlike Burger King and McDonald’s, the company does not have a signature sandwich, such as the Whopper or the Big Mac. Instead, it has the Dave’s 1/4 lb. Single (introduced in 2011 as Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy as a reworking of the longstanding Wendy’s Single, shortened to simply Dave’s in 2016), a square-pattied burger made with fresh ground beef rather than round frozen patties. Wendy’s uses these square hamburger patties – which hang over the edge of a circular bun – as its signature item.
