California Pizza Kitchen, commonly known as CPK, is a casual dining restaurant chain that was founded in Beverly Hills, California, in 1985. It currently has around 250 locations. The CPK menu features a variety of innovative pizzas, as well as salads, soups, sandwiches, pastas, and desserts. Some of the most popular pizzas on the menu include the BBQ Chicken Pizza, Thai Chicken Pizza, and California Club Pizza. CPK is also known for its creative salads, such as the Chinese Chicken Salad and the Thai Crunch Salad.
In addition to its regular menu items, California Pizza Kitchen offers seasonal specials, including special pizzas and cocktails that change throughout the year. CPK really was one of the pioneers in the industry as far as offering different types of pizzas and toppings beyond traditional favorites. During the COVID pandemic, CPK was forced to declare bankruptcy but has managed to stay open during the reorganization process. While some locations were forced to close, many remained open, and management is hopeful it can resume expansion in the near future.
