Here’s our annual roundup of Veterans Day deals.  Veteran’s Day is Sunday, Nov. 11,  2012, but many specials continue on Monday,  Nov. 12.   Many chain restaurants have free entrees or other deals to salute our military.

To qualify you will need evidence of service such as a military ID or Veterans Organization Card (i.e., American Legion and VFW).  Some restaurants allow a photo of yourself in uniform, or just wear your uniform.

Applebee’s has a free steak or other entree for veterans and active duty personnel on Veterans Day.  This is during normal business hours on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.   Choose from an Applebee’s Signature entree such as a 7 oz House Sirloin, Fiesta Lime Chicken or Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger.  Beverages not included.  More details at the Applebee’s website:http://www.applebees.com/menu/vetsday

Golden Corral has what is probably the biggest national event, their annual free dinner buffet for active duty personnel and veterans.  This deal is  on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012.   Golden Corral says they have served more than 3 million free meals to vets.  More details: http://community.goldencorral.com/events/military-appreciation-monday-3

Krispy Kreme is offering a free doughnut and small coffee to veterans on Sunday, Nov. 11 2012.  Veterans must be in uniform or have proof of military service.  Note that freebie can’t be obtained through the drive through.

Little Caesars Pizza is offering all veterans a free order of Crazy Bread with proof of military status (military ID or DD-214 form) at participating stores nationwide this Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, 2012.

LongHorn, which says they plan to become America’s next favorite steakhouse by offering the widest variety of steak cuts in casual dining, and steaks that are fresh never frozen, is offering vets a free Texas Tonion and non-alcoholic beverage.  More details to be available soon from LongHorn Steakhouse.

Olive Garden has a free entree for the military on Veterans Day.  Choose from five entrees:

    It is great to have these places give free meals or other deals to Vets. The only comment I have is that the free lunch or other items on Monday to Vets. Unless you dont have a job or willing to loose sleep before going to work or miss work. You dont get any of these Monday afternoon deals. Soldiers are use to these though and are thankful for places to offer them non the less. Thank you for the good hearts that they have. 🙂

    On The Border (Corporate locations) will be offering a ‘Sizzling Salute to Veterans’ on Sun. Nov. 11th Veterans Day.
    Present the Veterans Day OTB flyer (or mention this special when placing your order) on Sun. 11/11/12 and 15% of your purchase will be donated to ‘Carry The Load’ (a non profit dedicated to honoring service members and their families).
    Veterans dining at OTB on Sun. 11/11/12 with Military ID or proof of Military Service receive a FREE ENTREE Certificate Valid up to $10 any day of the week, 11/12/12 thru 11/30/12.
